Monclassico is a municipality of approximately 850 inhabitants and also includes the hamlet of Presson. It is a typical small mountain village, made famous for its artistic sundials that decorate the houses of this pleasant village in Val di Sole.

Val di Sole boasts a favorable exposure to the sun and Monclassico and Presson, in particular, are sunny villages, with south-eastern exposure. The Cultural Association of the Sundials since 2001 has had the objective of culturally developing the village and started an initiative that includes the involvement of the inhabitants, of making Monclassico the village of artistic sundials.

Five are created every year and the projects has plans for fully 50 of them. Public and private building are embellished and thus also become an intelligent way to enhancing the urban heritage of the village.
