Madonna di Campiglio is one of the most famous Alpine tourist resorts. It is situated at an altitude of 1,522 meters in the Alta Val Rendena, not far from the Campo Carlo Magno Pass, a mountain pass reached from the crossroads of Dimaro rising towards Folgarida, which is less than 10 km away.

Madonna di Campiglio is often a destination for VIPs, with numerous other jet-set personalities such as Valentino Rossi, Paris Hilton, Naomi Campbell and other famous athletes.

In February during the WROOM Week, the Formula 1 drivers of Ferrari come to the resort and ski the slopes or participate in events in which they are involved, such as the launching of the new Fiat cars.

Every year it is the setting of the so-called Hapsburg Carnival, cultural and tourist event called "Hapsburg Campiglio" with social and cultural events restoring to glory of life in Campiglio during the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph of the Hapsburg Court.

Famous is 3-Tre slope (the name stands for "3 races in Trentino"), on which special slalom races are run of the World Cup of Alpine skiing , and also the very direct Spinale slope that has very steep slopes in the final section.
