Monclassico is a municipality of approximately 850 inhabitants and also includes the hamlet of Presson. It is a typical small mountain village, made famous for its artistic sundials that adorn the houses of this pleasant village in Val di Sole.

Val di Sole boasts a favorable exposure to the sun and Monclassico and Presson, in particular, are villages with a sunny proposensity, facing South-East. The Sundial Cultural Association since 2001 has had an objective of cultural development of the village and has started an initiative that is established with the involvement of the inhabitants to make Monclassico become the village of artistic sundials.

Five are created every year and the project anticipates no less than 50. Public and private buildings are decorated and thus also become an intelligent way to enhance the urban heritage of the village.
